FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Brain Injury Association of Michigan’s Veterans Program ranked among nation’s top veterans programs by greatnonprofits Brighton, Mich., April XX, 2010 – The Brain Injury Association (BIA) of Michigan is proud to announce that its four-year old Veteran’s Program, under the direction of Retired Air Force Major Rick Briggs, has been ranked 21st out of 128 nonprofit organizations around the country that provide service and support to our nation’s veterans according to GreatNonprofits’ recently-conducted 2010 Veterans Choice Campaign. Great Nonprofits was formed in 2007 as an online consumer-based ranking service that allows people to review and share information about the 1.2 million nonprofit organizations on their website. More than 1,200 veterans from around the country participated in the campaign, providing first-hand accounts and commentary regarding the programs that are up-to-date, professional, and truly meet their needs. “It’s both a tremendous honor and a deeply humbling experience for our program to receive this recognition,” said Air Force Maj. (Ret.) Briggs. “Michigan is among the leading states in the country in providing early diagnosis and adequate care for TBI and PTSD veterans returning from Iraq and Afghanistan, and this ranking is a testament to that leadership.” “Maj. (Ret.) Briggs is truly deserving of great praise for his leadership and the countless hours he’s dedicated on behalf of the brave men and women who’ve served our country and now bear the physical, emotional and psychological scars of their service.,” said BIA of Michigan President Mike Dabbs. “This ranking is a vote of confidence in his leadership from the very people he serves.” The Brain Injury Association of Michigan (BIAMI) is dedicated to enhancing the lives of those affected by brain injury through education, advocacy, research and local support groups, and to reducing the incidence of brain injury through prevention. Founded in 1981, Brighton, Mich.-based BIAMI is a national leader in its efforts on behalf of the nearly 200,000 Michigan residents who have sustained brain injuries. ### Brain Injury Association of Michigan 7305 Grand River, Suite 100 www.biami.orgBIAMI's Veteran Program Ranked Among Nation's Top Veteran Programs by GreatNonProfits
